Research Title: Leadership and Emotional Intelligence: Developmental Experiences of
Effective Federal Government Leaders
You are invited to participate in a research study that explores how is developed within Federal government leaders. Your participation is completely emotional intelligence
voluntary. Your participation in this study requires and interview during which you will
be asked questions about your meaningful emotional intelligence development
experiences. The duration of the interview will be approximately 60 minutes. With your
permission, the interview will be digitally recand maintain an accurate record of our discussion. Your name will not be used. On all orded and transcribed in order to capture
transcripts and data analysis you will be referred to by a pseudonym.
This study will be conducted by the researcher, David A. (Dave) Rude, a doctoral
candidate at George Washington University. The interview will be conducted at a time and location that is mutually suitable.


Risks and Benefits:
This research will hopefully contribute to the understanding of meaningful activities that
develop emotional intelligence within Federal government leadersstudy carries the same amount of risk that individuals will encounter during a usual. Participation in this
meeting of colleagues.
Data Storage to Protect Confidentiality:
Under no circumstances whatsoever will you be identified by name in the course of
this research study, or any publication thereof. Every effort will be made that all information provided by you will be treated as strictly confidential. All data will be coded
and securely stored, and will be used for professional purposes only.
How the Results Will Be Used:
This research study is to be submitted in partial fulfillment of requirements for the degree of Doctor of Education at George Washington University, Washington, DC. The results
of this study will be published as a dissertation. In addition, information may be used for
educational purposes in professional presentations and/or publications.
