10. Preheater Cyclone Size

During discussion in one of the project on Preheater cyclone sizing & design the
specific requirement given to all suppliers are

  • 350 mmwg pressure at fan inlet on guaranteed output – To reduce the PH fan
specific power consumption as low as possible, 350 mm is the minimum PH
fan inlet guaranteed draft offered by suppliers for the first time.

  • Bigger Sizing of PH Cyclone - To have lower volumetric loading < 1 tpd/m3 than
standard and also better future potential on capacity & efficient heat transfer
will lead to slow and uniform heating of raw mix so that higher calcination can
be attained in PH tower itself resulting in leaser work for kiln enabling to
have lower thermal loading inside the kiln and improved refractory life. Also no
CO and coating in preheater cyclones and risers.
10.1 Preheater Cyclone Size- Standard V/S. Offered Sizing
