Spheres
Cross-sectional analysis.
Square. Cube: parallel lines.
Form of oblong: parallel and perspective lines. Crosshatching.
Triangle.
Pyramid shading using
vertical lines.
PRACTISING SHAPE INTO FORM
Cone: diagonal line shading.
Now practise turning shapes into the illusion
of form, so the circle becomes a sphere, the
triangle a cone, and the oblong a cylinder.
We need to understand the properties of
shape and form, and how artists use them to
create a composition. Without a sense of
form you will not be able to produce a
finished piece of work.
