Explanation


The prescription Li Zhong Tang tonifies Spleen-Yang and expels Cold. Its variation Gui Fu Li
Zhong Tang tonifies both Spleen and Kidney Yang. The prescription Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan (from
which Mu Dan Pi Cortex Moutan radicis has been eliminated) tonifies Kidney-Yang.

Explanation


This pill, already mentioned above under Yin Oedema, tonifies and warms Kidney-Yang.


The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is a Pale and wet body.

Clinical Manifestations


This pattern is basically the same as the previous one, the only difference being that it is
characterized by uprising of Yin (or "Water") in the chest causing nausea and vomiting. These
two symptoms distinguish this pattern from the previous one.
