When the pathogenic factor is between the Exterior and Interior, treatment is aimed at
harmonizing the Lesser Yang.


Another important consideration in treating ME is that every effort should be made to treat any
new infection the patient might develop during the course of treatment. This is because a new
acute viral infection such as a cold or influenza can often undo the work of weeks of treatment.
For this reason, it is a good idea to give the patient a supply of Yin Qiao Wan
Lonicera-Forsythia Pill to take at the first signs of an infection with such symptoms as shivering,
a temperature, a sore throat, aches in the muscles, a headache and general lassitude.


Let us now examine the treatment of the various conditions with which ME can manifest itself.

Clinical Manifestations


Aches in the muscles, tiredness and sleepiness, feeling of heaviness of the body or head, muscle
fatigue after even the slightest exertion, no appetite, feeling of oppression of the chest or
epigastrium, a sticky taste, lack of concentration, a "muzzy" feeling of the brain, poor
concentration and short-term memory, dull headache, a sticky-yellow tongue coating and a
Slippery pulse.


If Heat is evident there will be: thirst, dark urine, yellow vaginal discharge, mucus in the stools
with burning sensation of the anus on defecation, possibly blood in the stools, possibly night
