Mai Men Dong Tuber Ophiopogonis japonici 9 g
Yu Zhu Rhizoma Polygonati odorati 6 g
Tian Hua Fen Radix Trichosanthis 4.5 g
Sang Ye Folium Mori albae 4.5 g
Bian Dou Semen Dolichoris lablab 4.5 g
Gan Cao Radix Glycyrrhizae uralensis 3 g
Explanation
- Bei Sha Shen promotes body fluids and nourishes Yin.
- Mai Men Dong nourishes Yin of Stomach and Lungs.
- Yu Zhu and Tian Hua Fen nourish Stomach and Lung Yin, generate fluids and clear
Heat. - Sang Ye clears Lung-Heat and stimulates the descending of Lung-Qi.
- Bian Dou tonifies Spleen Qi and Yin and is used according to the principle of
"strengthening the Earth to promote Metal".
Variations
- In case of cough add Bai Bu Radix Stemonae or Kuan Dong Hua Flos Tussilaginis
farfarae. - In case of haemoptysis add Bai Mao Gen Rhizoma Imperatae cylindricae.
- In case of Empty-Heat add Di Gu Pi Cortex Lycii chinensis radicis.
