Explanation
This remedy has the same ingredients and indications as the above-mentioned decoction Sang Ju
Yin. It is used if cough and sore throat are the predominant symptoms.
The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is slightly Red front.

Explanation
This pill releases the Exterior, expels Wind-Heat and resolves Fire-Poison. It is similar to the
Yin Qiao Pill but stronger in its action.

Common Cold and Influenza: Wind-Heat Invading the Lungs-Male, Age 6
A 6-year-old boy had come down with an upper-respiratory infection the day before the
consultation. His symptoms included a fever, a cough, shivering, a sore throat, swollen tonsils, a
headache and a rash. This consisted of small, sparse, red papules. His tongue was Red in the
front part, with red points in the front and sides (Plate 34.1(545)).
Diagnosis This is an invasion of Wind-Heat with some symptoms of Fire-Poison
