  • SP-6 and KI-3 nourish Kidney-Yin, which helps to nourish Liver-Yin.

    calm the Mind.

Yi Guan Jian
(One Linking Decoction)


Bei Sha Shen Radix Glehniae littoralis 10 g
Mai Men Dong Tuber Ophiopogonis japonici 10 g
Dang Gui Radix Angelicae sinensis 10 g
Sheng Di Huang Radix Rehmanniae glutinosae 30 g
Gou Qi Zi Fructus Lycii chinensis 12 g
Chuan Lian Zi Fructus Meliae toosendan 5 g

Explanation



  • Bei Sha Shen and Mai Men Dong nourish Lung-Yin.

  • Dang Gui, Sheng Di and Gou Qi Zi nourish Liver-Yin.

  • Chuan Lian Zi moves Liver-Qi. It is one of the few cold moving Qi-herbs.


Variations


When used for chronic asthma, herbs to restore the descending of Lung-Qi should be added such
as Xuan Fu Hua Flos Inulae, Xing Ren Semen Pruni armeniacae and Su Zi Fructus Perillae
frutescentis.


Herbs


If one were to use one of the formulae for deficiency of the Lung and Kidney's Defensive-Qi
systems, then some herbs to nourish Liver-Yin should be added, such as Sheng Di Huang Radix
