This prescription is used for Wind-Phlegm, i.e. a combination of internal Wind and Phlegm. It is
therefore used only in old people who are most likely to suffer from Wind-Phlegm, such as
would occur after a stroke. Hence the addition of Shi Chang Pu which opens the orifices blocked
by Phlegm. "Opening the orifices" in this case would address the symptom of slurred speech, for
example.
