Explanation


This pill nourishes Yin, promotes fluids, drains Fire and moves the stools. It is suitable for
constipation caused by Fire in the Large Intestines, when Fire has begun to injure Yin and
particularly if accompanied by acne.


The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is a Red body without coating in the centre
but with a dry yellow coating elsewhere.

Explanation


Although this is a remedy which is usually used for eye problems deriving from Liver-Fire, it
can be used for constipation from the same cause as it contains Da Huang and Dang Gui which
move the stools.


The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is a Red body with redder sides and a
dry-yellow coating.
