Huang Bo Cortex Phellodendri 9 g
Niu Xi Radix Achyranthis bidentatae seu Cyathulae 6 g
Yi Yi Ren Semen Coicis lachryma jobi 9 g
Explanation
This formula resolves Damp-Heat and Fire-Poison from the Lower Burner.
- Cang Zhu and Huang Bo form the Er Miao San Two Wonderful Powder which resolves
Damp-Heat from the Lower Burner. - Niu Xi, added to the previous two herbs, forms the San Miao San Three Wonderful
Powder. Niu Xi directs the formula to the Lower Burner, lower back and legs. - Yi Yi Ren, added to the previous three herbs, forms the Si Miao San. The addition of Yi
Yi Ren allows the formula to treat Fire-Poison as well as Damp-Heat. Yi Yi Ren also
resolves oedema and treats swollen feet.
