30.4.3 If you are lost for a word you can use the impersonal phrase¿Cómo se dice... ?,
‘how do you say... ?’.

30.4.4 To ask people to speak more slowly or repeat what they have said, use phrases like these:


Por favor, ¿puede/s or podría/s hablar más despacio?
Could you speak more slowly please?

Más despacio, por favor.
More slowly, please.

Por favor, ¿podría (usted)/s repetir lo que ha/s dicho?
Could you please repeat what you’ve said?

Note that the conditional podría/s, ‘could’, from poder, ‘can’, generally expresses
more politeness than the present form puede/s.

the following sentences with entender, ‘to understand’.
¿Me entiende (usted)/entiendes?
Can you understand me?


Me entiende (usted)/entiendes, ¿verdad?
