  1. Format the cells that will hold the instructions.
    Move your cursor to cell B4. Click and drag down and to the right to cell
    G8. Press Ctrl+1, and make the following changes.


a. Select the Alignment tab. Change both horizontal and vertical text
alignment to Center, and click on Wrap text and Merge cells.

b. Select the Font tab. Make sure that Arial is selected and change the
size to 12.

c. Select the Border tab. Change color to Automatic and select the bottom
left line style. Click Outline.

d. Select the Patterns tab. In the bottom row, select Beige. Click OK to
exit.


  1. Enter the text for the instructions.
    The merged cells (B4:G8) should still be selected. If not, select them and
    then type in the following text. Press Enter when you have finished:
    To begin, type a fraction into the YELLOW box below. Next, move to the candy bar
    and color in the pieces to match the fraction you wrote. Do this by typing in an X.
    When you are done, check your answer by typing a? in the BLUE box and
    pressing Enter. Delete the? and X's, and try again.

  2. Delete any Xs you may have entered in cells B12:G13.
