Considering the energy balance for feed heater we have ;
m(h 2 ′ – hf 5 ) = (1 – m) (hf 5 – hf 4 )
or m(2697 – 561.4) = (1 – m) (561.4 – 163.4)
or 2135.6 m = 398 (1 – m)
∴ m = 0.157 kJ/kg of steam generated. (Ans.)
