light. A material that is fairlyfast (more
stable) but nevertheless susceptible to
damage, such as the oil in paintings, will be
changed mainly by UV radiation. But more
sensitive dyes and pigments, which are
damaged by either UV or visible radiation,
will be changed mainly by the visible radia-
tion, since it is more plentiful. In the museum
environment, it is necessary to limit both UV
and visible radiation.
