Function name Function description

monitorMember Continuous monitoring of member(s). Invokes
UpdateMember.

retrieveMember Allows retrieving members of the system complying with a
given filter. Also allows subscribing to updates of the
membership table fitting a specified filter (e.g. to be notified of
all updates to entities belonging to a given owner).

updateMember  Update member metadata in the membership database

 Register a member into the membership database.

This triggers an exchange with the Security FG to

check whether this entity is authorised to join the

system.

 Unregister a member from the membership database.

Reporting

Description The Reporting FC can be seen as an overlay for the other
Management FCs. It distils information provided by them. One
of many conceivable reporting goals is to determine the
efficiency of the current system. This is important since by
―collecting and analysing performance data, the [system]
health can be monitored.‖ [Wikipedia 2012]. Establishing
trends enables the prediction of future issues. This FC can
also be utilised for billing tasks.
