DRAWING MANGA BOYS
You can have a lot of fun with this kind of armor, adding attachments and items at random
for a busy, technological feel. There is some visible weaponry on the right shoulder, with
what looks like a cannon blaster of some sort. The antenna on the left shoulder suggests a
communication device or transmitter, and the boots look rugged and heavy-duty.TEC h bATTLE ARMOR
Start by drawing
a basic figure with
lines and circles for
bones and joints, and
triangles for pelvis and
feet. Add a breast-
plate, down to a fitted
waist.Add the arms: these
have large shoulder
pads, elbow pads, and
wrist guards. Draw
in an antenna on one
shoulder.
Turn to the pant
details, sharpening the
triangle of the pelvis
and dividing it in two.
Add kneepads, then
start to detail the
chunky boots.Ink all the main lines
and details. Then color
black those areas that
are not covered by
protectors: the arms,
torso, and the tops of
the legs, leaving the
details white.
