Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of
Industrial and Physical Pharmacy
TheCollegeofPharmacyatPurdueUniversityisseekingapplicationstofill a faculty
positionintheDepartmentofIndustrialandPhysicalPharmacyinthegeneralareaof
Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and/or Advanced Manufacturing.
The position is for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The facul-
ty member is expected to establish an externally funded research program and will teach courses
in the undergraduate, graduate and professional (PharmD) programs. It is expected that the in-
dividual will collaborate on various research activities within the department and in multidisci-
plinary research throughout the University. This is a nine-month (academic year) appointment.
The candidate must have expertise in fundamental and applied research related to the devel-
opment, design, evaluation and manufacturing of biopharmaceutical products. Representa-
tive areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:
- Formulation-manufacturing interface (e.g., stability, analysis, and/or manufacturing) of
peptide,protein,cell-basedand/ornucleicacid-basedtherapeutics,vaccines,and/or
immunotherapeutics. - Advanced manufacturing approaches using novel technologies such as (but not limited to)
continuous manufacturing, drying technology, aseptic processing, and 3D printing.

Qualifications:The candidate must hold a PhD degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
such as pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, biochemistry, analytical chemistry and bio-
physics or closely relatedfield. The candidate will have an outstanding record of scientific
and technical accomplishment, an exceptional potential for world-class research and a com-
mitment to both undergraduate and graduate education. Purdue University’s Department of

The McGovern Institute for Brain Research
is accepting nominations for the18th
annual Edward M. Scolnick Prize in
Neuroscience. The Prize recognizes
an outstanding discovery or significant
advance in thefield of neuroscience. The
prize is$150,000. The recipient presents
a public lecture at MIT, hosted by the
McGovern Institute and followed by a
dinner in Spring 2022.
Nomination Deadline:December 15, 2021
Nomination procedures:
Candidates for the award must be
nominated by individuals affiliated with
universities, hospitals, medicals schools,
or research institutes, with a background in
neuroscience. Self-nomination is not
permitted. Each nomination should
include:
- A biosketch or CV of the nominee.
- A letter of nomination with a summary
and analysis of the major contributions of
the nominee to thefield of neuroscience. - Up to two representative reprints will
be accepted.
Selection Procedure:
- Members of the selection committee
and faculty affiliated with MIT are
not eligible. - Announcement of the award recipient
will be made in January 2022. - Recipient must attend all events to be
awarded the prize.
