Barium enema: Shows intussusception.
Complete blood count—elevated WBC (leukocytosis):


  • 10,000 to 15,000 μL is a sign of bowel obstruction.

  • 15,000 to 20,000 μL is a sign of bowel strangulation.



  • 20,000 μL is a sign of bowel infarction.
