Pulpectomy

Root canal therapy following pulpectomy has a poor success rate in young permanent
molars. In a recent study only 36% of young root filled molar teeth were considered a
success. Hence, pulpectomy should be reserved only for cases exhibiting symptoms
where the pulp is irreversibly damaged.
