AVAILABLE TRANSMISSION FACILTIES ON TELEVISION
Television stations transmit in one of two ways:
- Very High Frequency or VHF
- Ultra High Frequency or UHF
Broadcasting is also classified on television into NETWORK, SPOT and LOCAL. Transmission is done
through signal – an electrical impulse – that is, broadcast to cover areas allocated to each television
station. All signals are transmitted by electromagnetic waves or frequency.
VERY HIGH FREQUENCY (VHF): is a band of transmission frequencies between 30 and 300 megahertz
(MHz) MEGAHERTZ. It is a unit of frequency equal to one million hertz or megacycle.
ULTRA HIGH FREQUENCY (UHF): is a band of transmission frequencies between 300 and 3000
megahertz.
