In terms of Rembrandt's other drawings, the composi-
tion and style can be compared with the earlier and less
advanced Winter Landscape (Cambridge, Mass., Fogg
Art Museum, inv. 1932. 368; Benesch 1973, vol. 4, no.
845) and Bend in the River Amstel (Chatsworth, Devon-
shire collection, inv. 1025; Benesch 1973, vol. 6, no.
1268). The latter is quite similar in spatial organization
and in the sensitive application of wash.
