SJT cord- “S” stands for service, meaning the cord has been rated for 600 volts or less.
- “V” stands for vacuum cord, which references one of the cable type’s common applications. Rated to 300 volts.
- “T” stands for thermoplastic, which refers to the material the cord jacket is made of.
- “J” stands for junior, short for Junior Service, meaning the cord has been rated at 300 volts.
