Removal of a lymph vessel

Infusion (transplantation) of healthy bone marrow stem cells to stimulate blood cell

production once the diseased bone marrow is destroyed by radiation or chemother-

apy drugs

BMT is used to treat patients with leukemia and lymphoma. It can be autologous (from

the patient’s own bone marrow) or allogenic (from a compatible donor).
