Dorothy Ann Cowen, age
84 of Middleville, passed
away on November 29, 2021.
Dorothy was born on May
9, 1937 in Grand Rapids, the
daughter of John and Maxine
(Boone) Fowler. Dorothy was
an art teacher at Valleywood
Middle School for over 25
years. She was a member of
the Middleville United
Methodist Church where she
was involved in the Women’s
League. She was also active
with Hastings TOPS, volun-
teered at several senior homes
teaching exercising classes,
helped design sets for local
plays, and enjoyed helping
others through various groups
and organizations. In her free
time, she enjoyed traveling
and crocheting.
Dorothy is survived by her
daughter, Marie (Ken) Gage;
grandchildren, Aleida (James)
Gorgol, Daniel (Cristina)
Rivera, and Esteban Rivera;
great grandchildren, Sammy,
Owen, Emilia, Emerson, and
one on the way; sister, Angie
Waters; and several nieces
and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in
death by her parents; son,
Jonathan DeForest; and sever-
al siblings.
A memorial service for
Dorothy will be held at a later
date. Please visit http://www.beeler-
goresfuneral.com to share a

lence message for Dorothy’s
family.
Kenneth R. Schultz, age 81,
of Caledonia was called to his
heavenly home on Thursday,
Nov. 25, 2021.
He will be lovingly remem-
bered by his wife of 60 years,
Marilyn; children, Carolyn
(Ron) Klinge, Joann Smith,
Sarah (David) Ryder, Brian
Schultz, Keith Schultz; 10
grandchildren; four great
grandchildren; siblings, Ruth
Debrie, Dorothy (Lloyd)
Fisher, Rose Borma; many
nieces, nephews, cousins and
dear friends.
Ken was a faithful employ-
ee of GM Diesel Plant for
over 42 years. He served with
the Caledonia Fire
Department for 32 years. He
was an avid fisherman, hunter
and camping enthusiast. He
loved the outdoors but family
always came first. He was a
“go to” kind of guy, always
willing to help others.
Ken had a great sense of
humor and was known to be a
practical joker. He also
enjoyed square dancing with
Marilyn.
In accordance with Ken’s
wishes, cremation has taken
place and a memorial service
will be planned for a later date
due to COVID. Condolences
