FALLING RAIN PATTERN
This eyelet pattern is worked on a background of reverse stockinette stitch. You
work it on a multiple of 6 stitches.
1 Row 1 (RS): P4, yo, p2tog; repeat from *to end.
2 Rows 2, 4, and 6 (WS): K1, p1, k5; repeat from to last 5 stitches, p1, k4.
3 Rows 3 and 5: P4, k1, p5; repeat from to last 2 stitches, k1, p1.
4 Row 7: P1, yo, p2tog, p4; repeat from to last 5 stitches, yo, p2tog, p3.
5 Rows 8, 10, and 12: K4, p1, k5; repeat from to last 2 stitches, p1, k1.
6 Rows 9 and 11: P1, k1, p5; repeat from to last 5 stitches, k1, p4.

chapter 9WINDOW EYELETS
This pattern combines yarn overs with knit 3 togethers to create a design
that looks like a grid of window panes. You work this pattern on a multiple of 4
stitches plus 3.
1 Rows 1 and 3 (WS): Knit.
2 Row 2 (RS): Purl.
3 Row 4: P3, yo, k1, yo, p3; repeat from to end.
4 Rows 5, 7, and 9: K3, p3, k3; repeat from to end.
5 Rows 6 and 8: P3, yo, k3tog, yo, p3; repeat from to end.
6 Row 10: P3, k3tog, p3; repeat from to end.
7 Repeat rows 1–10 for window eyelets.
SNOWFLAKE BAND
This eyelet pattern works well as a decorative border along a hem or cuff, or it can
be repeated as an allover pattern. It uses a decrease called pass 2 slipped stitches
over (p2sso). P2sso is like a slip 1, knit 1, psso—or skp—except you slip 2 stitches
instead of 1, and you pass the 2 slipped stitches, instead of 1, over the knit stitch.
You work this pattern on a multiple of 7 stitches.
1 Row 1 (WS): Knit.
2 Rows 2 and 10 (RS): Knit.
3 Rows 3, 5, 7, and 9: Purl.
4 Rows 4 and 8: K4, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k3; repeat from to last stitch, k1.
5 Row 6: K5, yo, slip 2, k1, p2sso, yo, k5; repeat from to end.
6 Repeat rows 1–10 for snowflake band.
