Overview

Every well-planned process has a beginning and an end. The post-production editing workfl ow
is an involved process that needs to incorporate numerous procedures in a carefully considered,
logical and progressive sequence. Only by following a logical sequence are we able to create
highest quality images with the minimum of fuss. Each step in the sequence serves a purpose,
but also has inherent pitfalls if performed badly or out of sequence. These three stages of
image editing provide the photographer with an overview of a professional typical image-editing
workfl ow. Although some of the steps could feasibly be repositioned in the workfl ow sequence it
is recommended that you follow the steps in the pages that follow until you are comfortable with
the process.
