Shots like this that combine landscape with skyscape are prime candidates for a
graduated filter. In this case, we’ve increased the overall exposure, boosted the
highlights to brighten the image, reduced the shadows to bring out the flower and
grass texture and then applied a coloured graduated filter from top to horizon, reducing
exposure by about half a stop and increasing colour saturation. The result is a bright
and colourful shot worthy of any picture postcard.
