Design is required for a new pavement to be constructed in 2006. The annual
average daily traffic for commercial vehicles on the opening day will be 1500.


Growth rate =4%
Subgrade CBR =3%
Design life =20 years


Assume a bituminous roadbase is to be used.

Roadbase+surfacing=375 mm, assuming a bituminous roadbase (wet-mix
roadbase is unsuitable and lean-mix roadbase results in surfacing of 200 mm
on top of the lean-mix roadbase of 250 mm).
