4.1.2M I L L W O R K
ARCHITECTURAL WOODWORK
4.1.2.1 While AWAITING INSTALLATION, shall be stored:
4.1.2.1.1 Flat on a level surface
4.1.2.1.2 At least 4” (101.6 mm) off the floor
4.1.2.1.3 With a cover to keep it clean, while permitting air circulation
4.1.2.2I N T E R I O R
At INTERIOR application, shall be stored and/or installed in an area:
4.1.2.2.1 That is clean
4.1.2.2.2 That is dry and well ventilated
4.1.2.2.3 That is protected from sunlight and/or excessive heat
4.1.2.2.4 That is protected from moisture
4.1.2.2.5 That is between 60 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit (15.5 - 32 degrees Celsius) inclusive
4.1.2.2.6 That has a maintained Relative Humidity between 25 - 55% inclusive, except in:4.1.2.2.6.1
The damp Southern Coastal areas of the U.S., Newfoundland,
and the Canadian Coastal Provinces shall be between
43 - 70% inclusive4.1.2.2.6.2The dry Southwestern U.S., and Alberta, Saskatchewan, and
Manitoba in Canada shall be between 17 - 50% inclusive
4.1.2.2.7 That has a maintained MC (Optimum Moisture Content) between 5 - 10%
inclusive, except in:4.1.2.2.7.1
The damp Southern Coastal areas of the U.S., Newfoundland,
and Canadian Coastal Provinces shall be between 8 - 13%
inclusive4.1.2.2.7.2 The dry Southwestern U.S., and Alberta, Saskatchewan, and
Manitoba in Canada shall be between 4 - 9% inclusive
4.1.2.2.8 To which it has been acclimated to for a minimum of 72 hours prior to installation
4.1.2.3 At EXTERIOR application, shall be stored and/or installed in an area that is:
4.1.2.3.1 Clean
4.1.2.3.2 Protected from direct moisture
4.1.2.3.3 Protected from direct sunlight
4.1.2.4A C C E P T A N C E
After ACCEPTANCE:
4.1.2.4.1 At INTERIOR application:4.1.2.4.1.1Shall be maintained in the same environmental conditions as
during its storage and/or installation4.1.2.4.1.2
Temperature in a building shall not be raised for a sustained
period of time to eliminate the OFF GASES; it will negatively
affect the appearance and performance of architectural
millwork
4.1.2.4.2 At EXTERIOR application shall:4.1.2.4.2.1 Have its finish maintained, refinishing as necessary (especially oiled finishes)4.1.2.4.2.2 Be protected from excessive moisture and standing water
4.1.2.4.3 SEVERE DAMAGE can result from not adhering to the above rules4.1.2.4.3.1FABRICATOR/INSTALLER shall not be held responsible for
