Peloton is most famous for its studio bikes

and treadmills; one might even say that

the brand has a cult-like following of

people who relish getting yelled at by

online instructors and sweating through

their workout gear. With the new Peloton

Guide ($495, onepeloton.com), Peloton

aims to provide the same experience to

people who are into strength training.

The Peloton Guide is a webcam-sized

unit that attaches to your TV to provide

interactivity to on-screen workouts. As

you follow the instructor on screen, the

Guide tracks your movements with a heart

rate monitor feeding your health metrics

into the system. You can see yourself on

the screen to help you match your moves

to the instructor and get credit when you

match their form.

The device also features a microphone

and a remote to control the menu system

and choose workouts. As expected from

Peloton, you’ll have to pay for the monthly

subscription and weights separately.
