Overview
Buildings have long life cycles, typically between 25 and 40 years, depending
on the type of building and the intent of the original construction. The life
cycle cost of a building includes the initial costs of the facility (concept, design,
financing, and construction), as well as the long-term operational costs of the
building (Fig. 14.1).
