METABOLIC DISORDERS AND CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH

As part of a broad institutional initiative in integrative biomedical sciences (IBio), Wayne State University is recruiting forfaculty positions(tenured or
tenure-track, open rank) in the integrative biology of cardiometabolic health and disease. The recruitment seeks to complement existing IBio strengths
in cell biology, lipid metabolism, and cardiometabolic physiology. Of particular interest are investigators addressing molecular and cellular processes
that impact energy metabolism, metabolic signaling, and cardiovascular function.

Successful applicants will benefit from a highly collaborative research environment working with colleagues throughout the University. Candidates
must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in biomedical sciences relevant to metabolic diseases, with evidence of peer recognition in thefield,
a commitment to excellence in research education and training, and the ability to engage with broader integrative science themes for the purpose of
achieving transformative and translational research gains. Applicants are expected to have already established extramural research funding or be on a
clear path to secure and sustain extramural funding in support of their research programs. Faculty recruits will integrate with departments and colleges
or schools consistent with their areas of expertise and interests and engage in all aspects of our academic mission, including research, education

INTRODUCTORY BIOLOGY TEACHING FACULTY

Position Description Summary
The Department of Biological Sciences at The George Washington
University (GWU) invites applicants for a teachingfaculty position
in Introductory Biology. This is a full-time, renewable contract
position beginning Fall 2022. The successful candidate will be actively
involved in the design, delivery, and supervision of undergraduate
laboratories associated with our Introductory Biology sequence for
majors. The candidate will teach a large lecture section in either the
majors or non-majors Introductory Biology course each semester, as
needed. The candidate will manage and coordinate labs and course
topics while collaborating with our teaching faculty, laboratory
managers, graduate teaching assistants, and undergraduate teaching
assistants to ensure a high-quality laboratory experience that prepares
our majors for advanced coursework in Biology. We particularly
welcome candidates from groups that are historically underrepresented
in biology and/or have demonstrated leadership toward building an
equitable and inclusive scholarly environment.
