Record of a Friendship

I don't care whether a few scientific thieves are mentioning where
they got their wisdom from or not. Here in the U.S.A. they do the same
thing. They don't last long, because work based on dishonesty cannot
prevail. [Reich then describes the plans for a new journal, Annals 0/ the
Orgone Institute, which is to replace the journal published heretofore.]
If you wish to publish gathered material about your school separately
in a special issue I would be glad if you would do so. I think it would
be interesting and of great importance to have an issue picturing your
school; articles written by you and your co-workers about principles and
single cases. I would appreciate your comment about this matter.
To be thought badly of by the communists of today is only a compli­
ment. I would feel rotten if they would love me. If there is any group of
living humans who can claim to top everything else in evasion of the
truth and in high politics, it is the communists. The Christians held on
to their principles for a few centuries. The communists did not manage
to stick to theirs for even 5 years after Lenin's death. It is a long sad
chapter of human character structure.
We hope to get the Accu through to you as soon as possible. It would
help Mrs. Neill quite a bit. I am happy that you will have a child of
"your own" (to use this capitalistic expression). To see it grow from
the first day through the first two years is quite an experience!! Later
on they grow away on their own, but the memory lasts. My daughter
Eva who is 22 years now and married, also studying medicine, is living
at Orgonon this summer and works at the laboratory. She overcame the
terrible conflicts of some years ago nearly completely and I love her as
a good friend rather than as a daughter.
The third edition of my Mass Psychology is coming out now in a few
days. I'll send a copy. All the other publications are sold by many
hundreds each month. Many state libraries and universities are among
the consumers. Physicians are pouring in for study and patients for
treatment to such an extent that we are unable to place them.
