need, instead of being cramped in one room in the lower building at
Orgonon. Please, give me your idea about this point.
Don't worry about the pornographic business. I know you are not
pornographic.
In regard to Barakan, I feel that the man succeeded in making us
make him important. He is not important. We judge a man according to
what he does, and not to what he talks. Please, understand that we have
to be strict about unqualified people doing the responsible job of
psychiatric treatment. It always hits back at me, and our responsible
physicians, if something happens.
Whether or not the C.P. will ever devastate the world depends on
people like you and me. It depends on how clearly we shall be able to
out-democratize and out-freedomize these little fellows who went

I have two of your letters to answer, the first offering us the
lake hut, the 2nd asking why I haven't replied to the offer. Of course it
would be delightful, but I'd need to hire a car, for I couldn't ask you
or Ilse to fetch us each time. Your other question about how the little
man is progressing ... I haven't started to it yet, for my book* isn't
off to the printers yet and I have more to write to make it the correct
number of words. I have begun to translate it (little man) aloud to Ena.
I have moods about coming back to U.S.A. I half hoped that my visit
would bring me letters from colleges, schools etc. asking me to come
and lecture. None came. So I sometimes think: "Neill, you are cheating
yourself. U.S.A. doesn't really care a damn if you come or stay at
home." Hence I sometimes say to Ena: "I don't think I'll try to go back
next year. l over-rated my reception there."
It just shows you how easy it is to get depressed again. I know it is
