Macro Photography

Depth Of Field:

Depth of field can be defined as the area of a photograph that is in acceptably sharp focus.

That area of sharp focus will often be referred to as the plane of focus. And an image can be out
of focus in the front, sharp focus on that plane and out of focus behind.

That simple little sentence describes a concept that will create more headaches in your
macro/close-up photography than almost anything else!

While there are many factors that can affect depth of field, the biggest ones affecting our
macro/close-up photography are; the magnification of our subject, the distance of the lens from
the subject and the f-stop.
