is the future of humanity and
technological development,” he says.
“There are so many possibilities and
fun things to be found in the virtual
world which simply can’t be achieved
in the real world – the virtual world
makes the impossible possible. We
hope that as technology continues to

is primed to deliver more global hits,
Genshin Impact and MiHoYo are
going to have to rapidly evolve to
keep pace, and Cai has an ambitious
idea of what that might entail.

Genshin Impact is big, but MiHoYo plans to add around five new regions. Here are the first three
LIYUE
Genshin’s visual potential comes to life in this country
inspired by ancient China, complete with terraced
villages, mountains, and a resplendent coastal city.
DRAGONSPINE
Added to the game in the 1.2 update, Dragonspine is a
frigid mountain wasteland where players have to fight
to keep warm or else freeze to death.
MONDSTADT
Pastoral fields surrounding a medieval kingdom
terrorised by an evil dragon, Mondstadt is maybe a
little too similar to Hyrule, but it sure is pretty.
