The Writing Process: Editing
After you have made a clean copy of your revised draft, you should proofread it
for errors in spelling, grammar, usage, and mechanics. Check for correct subject-
verb agreement, correct verb tenses, and clear pronoun references. Also check for
run-on sentences and sentence fragments. Use the following proofreading marks
to make corrections. If you replace words or phrases, draw a line through them
and write the new words just above them.
