GLIM
Numphodo ̄ros of Surakousai (230 – 190 BCE)
Composed Periploi and Peri to ̄n en Sikeliai thaumazomeno ̄n. The former work was divided into
sections, one of which was entitled Periplous te ̄s Asias. A selection Peri to ̄n en Sardiniai
thaumazomeno ̄n possibly completed his oeuvre. Numphodo ̄ros perhaps composed his para-
doxographical writings from the most interesting paradoxographical material in his travel
compilation. The few extant fragments treat anthropological and zoological themes.
