words, I think he’d find that holiness is not a captivating
concept to believers but considered a rather antiquated idea.
Yet the Bible, in both the Old (Leviticus 11:44) and New
Testaments (1 Peter 1:15–16), discusses holiness as a
nonnegotiable attribute that God requires of His people.

In a practical sense, holiness is getting clean and right with
God on a daily basis. Therefore, daily confession of any
known sin in your life (big, little, ugly, not so ugly) must
become nonnegotiable, especially if you want to experience the
benefits of being clean before God:

· healing (James 5:16)
· a powerful and effective prayer life (James 5:16)
· forgiveness (1 John 1:9)
· purifying from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)
· usefulness to God, preparedness to do any good work (2
Timothy 2:21)

Without the practice of regular admission of sin, your body,
mind, and soul will become dirtier and dirtier, less healthy, less
productive, and ultimately less powerful and effective in
prayer.

or the wrong foods, and refuse to weigh in regularly, hoping
you won’t gain weight—you’ll still gain weight. Overeating
