God also often talks through our parents, spiritual leaders,
bosses, or co-workers. They might make a very specific
suggestion to you after you’ve asked for financial advice, or
they might beg you not to do something that might jeopardize
your reputation. In those critical conversations, pay attention.
Is your heart thumping? Are your cheeks burning? Is the hair
rising on your neck or arms? God will use His messengers to
cause you to feel the urgency of His concern, to alert you,
even warn you of pending danger. God talks to you through
messengers so you won’t move forward, backward, left, or
right without His counsel, His voice.
God talks. He does! Listen for God to make His ways known
to you through godly messengers.
How God’s Messengers Speak to Me
In my personal experience, the messengers God has used to
speak to me have most often been unsuspecting people placed
perfectly in my life to bring a specific and timely word from
Him.
Though it has been over thirty-three years, I am still amazed
at the serendipitous encounter I had with a janitor who knew
God and understood alcoholism, on the day I was about to
commit suicide. When I entered a building looking for someone
to talk to, he was the only person there. I believe he was
standing at the bottom of the steps I had tearfully run down
because God had assigned him to keep a divine appointment
with me that afternoon.
