- What follows is an excerpt from one of the more detailed reports of what
Michael Adebolajo (chosen Islamic name, Mujahid Abu Hamza), said in
his police interviews. Note that he protests against the “corruption” of
Britain’s political leaders, claims that he and the other killer are soldiers of
Allah, that Muslims are at war with us, and that what was done to Lee
Rigby was an attempt at beheading (the form of execution commanded in
Koran 47:4). Despite these two Muslim killers asking that they be
referred to by their Muslim names, almost without exception the British
media would not use these Muslim names (clearly trying to deceive the
British public into thinking these killers were not really Muslims).
Michael Adebolajo [...] told officers that he had tried to behead Army
drummer Lee, 25, outside his barracks before declaring: “May Allah
forgive me if I acted in a way that is displeasing to him. [...] He was
struck in the neck with a sharp implement and it was sawed until his head,
you know, became almost detached. May Allah forgive me if I acted in a
way that is displeasing to him.” [...] The court heard that Adebolajo
demanded to be addressed as Mujahid Abu Hamza and described
Adebowale as “Ismael,” calling him his “Islam brother.” He added: “This
is a war between the people of Britain and the Muslim people. Your
leaders rule over you in a very wicked, corrupt, selfish and oppressive
manner, sadly.” [...] “The reality of Muslim lands is that they are full of
people like myself who are soldiers of Allah.” He added: “The point I’m
trying to make is that these are lands where you are sending working
class men where the men there love death more than they love life. I
genuinely want people to reflect on what I have been telling you.”
Adebolajo continued: “Allah calls them the Mujahideen [soldiers]. Allah
loves them.” [...] Consultant psychiatrist Tim McInerny told the court
that he examined Adebolajo three times after his arrest and found him to
be “fully compliant and co-operative”.
