- One of the exceptions to this rule in the twentieth-century was the attack
by Muslim terrorists on Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. In
this case, there were so few Muslims in the West that Muslims needed the
assistance of German National Socialists to carry out the attack. As with
the later attacks by Muslim terrorists on the Westgate shopping mall in
Nairobi and the Bataclan concert hall in Paris, the Muslims in Munich
