Islam and Mormonism, particularly
regarding the genesis of their beliefs. In
both religions: 1) there was a single
founder who claimed a ‘‘new’’
revelation; 2) there were no witnesses to
or independent corroboration of this
revelation; 3) there is a mix of Christian
elements chosen randomly and
arbitrarily; 4) both religions are
somewhat carnal in their view of
heaven; and 5) both allow (or allowed)
polygamy.
