■ A pathis a line that you can save with your image, just as you can save lay-
ers and channels. You can close the image, open it again, and the path you
created earlier will still be listed in the Paths palette.
■ Paths take up much less storage space than any other type of selection, such
as channels or layers.
■ Every time you click, you create an “anchor” along the path that can be
turned into a curve or remain an angle.
