pie because the cook included a piece of soap that made the pie difficult to eat. However, he recovered most of his
money the next day by eating half a case of apples.
Purvis had great strength and could demonstrate it by getting under the stomach of a horse and lifting it off the
ground on his shoulders.
He had a small booklet published, apparently titled 100 Graves (Lonely Graves of Northern SA) but it is not
known if any copies survive.
Bob Purvis died in September 1965 and is buried at Atartinga Station (formerly Woodgreen).
