Guide China’s poetry towards regularity
Into regularity
(Dragon of Cold Times y‡)

Serious or not, a challenge from newly emergent poets is bound to
come, and a quest for “regularity” or “proper standards”rs—a
rejection of seeming Internet anarchy—would appear to be an easy
position to take for a start. Under current conditions in China, lacking
a generally acknowledged domestic institution of consecration, the
avant-garde poets themselves act as the shop stewards of poetical
standards and traditions. All position-takings are valid and potentially
effective (and affective) in such a situation.
So, ambitious young hearts and minds—welcome to the free-for-all.
