Slow worm symmetry
One September day, we spotted this slow
worm in a pool of water outside our holiday
cottage in Ardnamurchan, Scotland. I love
how the heather mirrors the reptile’s body.
John Cobham, Lancashire

The morning rush
Some foxes had a den near where we used
to live in Lancashire and they became
accustomed to my presence. I caught this
shot on a summer morning using a 1/2000
shutter speed, as my subject was moving
quickly and I needed the image to be sharp.
Brandon Bento Kemp, Lanzarote, Spain

Right place, right time
I got this shot on my way to see the dentist.
It was cloudy but the sun sent a shaft of light
into the weir at just the right time. It’s one of
the best photos I’ve ever taken!
Michael Cardus, North Yorkshire
