My relationship with Connie started on May 23, 2007 –
although I didn't realize that fact until today as I started to
write this and I searched back through old emails. I had to
giggle a little.
At the time, I was working as an Affiliate Manager. Connie
was a new affiliate of ours and was just starting to learn
about affiliate marketing. She sent in a few questions and
I'd answered them. They were very basic questions and I
didn't think much of it at the time. She was obviously just
getting started as an affiliate and so I figured, like 99% of
affiliates, that I'd never see or hear from her again.
Fast forward to 2009. I was looking through a sales report
for the month and I started seeing a new affiliate ID
popping up. The ID was “LaVista”. Then I noticed that
“LaVista” started showing up when I looked at my own
affiliate program stats, too. Who the heck was this LaVista
person? I wanted to know who was making all of these
sales. I looked it up and saw her name, Connie Ragen
Green, and thought “I should get to know this lady.”
Just one year later, in 2010, Connie proved that she not
only was learning, but she was applying the information
that she'd learned in big ways.
You see, I like to hold affiliate contests. It's not enough to
just pay my affiliates their hard-earned cash, but I like to
