What does the Quran consist of?
To begin with, the Quran is the literal word of God there is not even a single letter
that has been added to it or remove it has remained unchanged for its entire history.
From amongst the books we find for the Muslims
- Books of the prophetic tradition, these are collections of the word of the
prophet and everything that he said did and approved of. - Books that document his life and character much in the way a biography
would - Books dedicated to the statements of the scholars
- Books related to documented history
One should note that all chapters of the Quran begin with “In the name of Allah the
most Beneficent the most High.”
One should also note that this Quran is the words of Allah and does not contain any
footnotes or margins where other people can add or take away from the body of the
text.
Along with the preservation of the Quran Allah has also preserved the traditions of
His prophet as they play an integral role in explaining the meanings of the Quran.
As for the contents then they are divided into two: Meccan chapters they are the
ones revealed to the prophet when he was in the Meccan period that’s thirteen years
